Craig Greenberg kicks off campaign for second term as Louisville mayor

Launch event held at IBEW union hall

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg kicked off his campaign for reelection Oct. 28 with a rally that brought together dozens of community leaders at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 369 Union Hall.

"Tonight, I'm here to officially announce that I'm running for reelection for mayor of Louisville," Greenberg said, prompting cheers from the crowd. ...

He noted that Louisville won record-high appropriations from the Kentucky General Assembly during his term and celebrated his ability to work with officials and lawmakers from across the political spectrum at all levels of government.

"I'm a proud Democrat who has reached across the aisle to Republicans and independents to get things done for Louisville," he said.

Fitting for the campaign kickoff's location in a union hall, Greenberg's remarks were preceded by a speech from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 369 official Ed Devine, who thanked Greenberg for his work to boost wages and invest in vehicle and facility improvements for city electricians.
