Indivisible Danville holds ‘Rally for Peace’ this Saturday

Via press release

Indivisible Danville invites the community to join us for a Rally for Peace on Saturday, January 10, from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM at the Boyle County Courthouse.

We’re gathering to protest the administration’s recent actions in Venezuela and escalating rhetoric toward Mexico, Cuba, and Greenland. Together, we will stand against the threat of a new era of American imperialism and demand a return to diplomacy and respect for international sovereignty.

Our Stance

Peaceful Advocacy: Indivisible Danville supports only peaceful protest. We do not advocate for or condone any form of violence.

Against Dictatorship: We do not support Nicolás Maduro or his despotic regime.

Constitutional Democracy: We firmly oppose the unilateral use of military force without Congressional approval, as well as any stated intentions to seize control of a sovereign nation’s industry or resources.

Event Details

Location: Boyle County Courthouse (321 Main St., Danville)

Time: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Bring: Your signs, your voice, and a commitment to our constitutional democracy. Lawn chairs welcome.

Parking: Free parking is available in the City of Danville parking garage at 225 W. Walnut St. or on the surrounding streets. Please reserve accessible and close parking near Weisiger Park and the courthouse for our friends with mobility differences.
