Is your hospital about to close?

Kentucky has more hospitals at risk of closing than any other state. And the Repubs’ Big Ugly Bill is just making the deaths come sooner.

Kentucky’s many rural hospitals have struggled for years to stay afloat. One of the biggest reasons they are still in business is the reimbursements they get from Medicaid.

But now, with the cuts to Medicaid in the recent Republican “Big Beautiful Bill” (so-called), our state’s hospitals are facing a financially devastating future. If the cuts stay as they are, many of them will close. In fact, in a recent report documenting all the hospitals across the country in danger of closing, Kentucky had the most at risk of any state with 35.
