Kentucky airports decline to air TSA video amid government shutdown

Joining multiple other airports across the country who are refusing to share the video which blames Democrats for the shutdown

Two of Kentucky’s major airports will not play a video from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem saying Democrats are to blame for the federal government shutdown.

Muhammad Ali International in Louisville and Blue Grass Airport in Lexington are not airing the video, joining airports across the country. Airports in Las Vegas, Charlotte, Atlanta, Phoenix, Seattle and others say the video goes against airport policy or regulations prohibiting political messaging in their facilities.

A spokesperson with Louisville’s airport told Spectrum News 1, “The video you referenced from DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is not playing at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF).”

Vice President of Marketing and Communications with Blue Grass Airport, Amy Caudill told Spectrum, “We are not playing this video pertaining to the government shutdown, in accordance with our policy not to display content of a political nature.”

She added, however, the airport is showing a video from Secretary Noem created at the beginning of 2025 pertaining to safety. Visitors will see that video at checkpoints.
