As President Donald Trump spoke at a logistics facility in Hebron, Kentucky, U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie was not among the Republicans at Trump’s side — instead facing sharp criticism from the president.
Massie and Trump continued their longtime feud during the president’s March 11 visit to the congressman’s district in Northern Kentucky, just two months ahead of Kentucky’s primary elections.
The day after Trump’s visit, Massie said the event was a “sad attempt to (breathe) life” into his primary opponent Ed Gallrein’s campaign, which he called “stale.”
“They used people from outside KY-4 to fill a small venue, woke Eddie’s voice cracked as he struggled to read the teleprompter, and nobody fell for the sad attempt to (breathe) life into his stale campaign. But they’re still outspending me almost 3 to 1!” Massie wrote on X.
