WASHINGON – Attorney General Pam Bondi accused Rep. Thomas Massie (R–Kentucky) of having “Trump derangement syndrome,” after Massie pressed her on why the Justice Department had initially redacted the name of Les Wexner in a document that described Wexner as a possible Epstein co-conspirator.
Wexner is a former CEO of Victoria’s Secret. A representative for him has previously said Wexner was told by a federal prosecutor in charge of an Epstein probe that he was “neither a co-conspirator nor target in any respect.” He provided the FBI with background on his relationship with Epstein and wasn’t contacted again, the representative said.
“You’re a failed politician,” Bondi told Massie, adding he should move on “to things that matter.” Massie is a lead sponsor of the law forcing the Justice Department to release Epstein files.
“This is bigger than Watergate. This, this goes over four administrations,” Massie responded. “This cover-up spans decades, and you are responsible for this portion of it.”
During the meeting, he took Bondi to task for the release of victims’ personal information, telling her, “Literally the worst thing you could do to survivors, you did.”
