U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie keeps pushing for the release of more information about the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, and in turn, more details about those in the late financier’s inner circle — and potential criminal wrongdoing — keep coming to light.
In the latest episode of the long-running controversy, the Kentucky congressman said he believes at least six men whose names have been redacted in documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice could be implicated. Now, he and Democratic U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna said they want those names released. The two representatives reviewed unredacted records related to the investigation on Feb. 9 and spoke out afterward.
“What we want is the men who Jeffrey Epstein trafficked women to — we want those names published,” Massie said after reviewing the documents, according to USA TODAY. ...
In the meantime, Massie’s efforts have not gone unnoticed back in the Bluegrass State.
State Rep. Steven Doan (R-Erlanger) is a Northern Kentucky attorney who’s said he stands by Massie “100%, unconditionally and no matter what.” On Feb. 9, hours before Massie spoke out about the unredacted files he’d reviewed, Doan filed a resolution in the Kentucky House urging Bondi to pursue criminal charges against anyone implicated in the Epstein investigation and to express “appreciation for Representative Thomas Massie’s leadership in making the Jeffrey Epstein files public.” The filing, House Resolution 62, had not yet been assigned to a committee as of Feb. 10. ...
In a Feb. 10 interview, Doan said he drafted the resolution last week and spent some time getting potential cosponsors on board before filing it this week. The filing had seven other Republican cosponsors when it was filed, including several vocal Massie supporters.
