Pillersdorf announces a run for Hal Rogers’s seat

And we’ve got an on-the-ground reporter with the coverage

In addition to practicing law and representing the poor and powerless pro bono, one of Pillersdorf’s loves is rescuing dogs and cats.

On Friday, July 4th, Ned Pillersdorf formally launched his campaign for the 5th District seat in Congress, currently held by Hal Rogers.

Pillersdorf, a well-known lawyer in eastern Kentucky, made the announcement at a rally in Prestonsburg, where his law office is located. He spoke in Rosenberg Square to a crowd of about 90 people at 5 PM.

Virginia Meagher, long-time Forward Kentucky member, was there and provided us with this video and these pictures.

After the announcement, there was live music and BBQ sandwiches, and people could go into Ned’s law office across the street (where there was air conditioning!) and talk with Ned, who answered questions for a while. The event ended with a Herald-Leader reporter interviewing Ned.
