Repro freedom rally on Thursday in Frankfort

10 AM – numerous speakers, including the governor

Via press release

Advocates, legislators, students, and everyday Kentuckians will rally on March 12 to demand reproductive freedom and defend access to essential health care and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education.

While Kentucky remains under one of the most extreme abortion bans in the nation, lawmakers this legislative session have introduced additional measures to penalize those who help someone access medication abortion, and expand criminal charges tied to pregnancy outcomes, while no proactive bills to expand care have advanced or even been heard.

At the same time, birthing centers are closing, limiting maternal health options, particularly in rural communities. Medicaid cuts have already taken effect, deepening health disparities, and Planned Parenthood remains barred from participating in Medicaid, restricting care for Kentuckians with low incomes. Kentuckians are calling on their elected leaders to protect personal freedom, restore access to care, and ensure medical decisions remain between patients and their providers—not politicians.
