Donald Trump is a wannabe authoritarian/fascist.
And a racist, sexist, misogynistic, xenophobic, nativistic, anti-LGBTQ demagogue.
And a panderer to Christian nationalism.
And a corrupt, feckless fraudster, hypocrite, serial liar, lout, boor, bully, narcissist, buffoon, union-buster, con man, and grifter who thinks the purpose of government is to make rich people richer, especially himself.
Last year, a panel of historians and political scientists ranked him the worst ever president. Yet, after siccing his FBI on John Bolton, there he was, sporting his “TRUMP WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING” ball cap.
Scholars rate George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Franklin D. Roosevelt as our greatest presidents. Try to imagine the Father of Our Country donning headwear proclaiming “WASHINGTON WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING.” Or Lincoln, the savior of our country: “LINCOLN WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING.” Or FDR, who led us through the Great Depression and World War II: “ROOSEVELT WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING.”
Said Washington: “It is no great thing to be humble when you are brought low; but to be humble when you are praised is a great and rare attainment.”
Said Lincoln: “What kills a skunk is the publicity it gives itself.”
Said FDR: “Remember you are just an extra in everyone else’s play.”
