Now that we are halfway through this year’s session, I thought it was a good time to bring back our Visual Bill Tracker. This is a simple spreadsheet showing the progress (or lack thereof) of our key legislation: those bills we are taking a position on, either for or against.
As you can see from the screenshot above, the tool is easy to use. There’s the bill number (linked to the bill at the LRC site), our short name, and whether we support (a “y” with a green background) or oppose (an “x” with a red background) the bill.
To the right are columns for the bill’s progress:
- In committee (we don’t count Committee on Committees)
- Crossed over, which means it has passed one chamber
- In the second committee (again, not in Cmte on Cmtes)
- Passed in both chambers
- Final disposition: signed, vetoed, veto overridden, law without signing
Every time I update this, I’ll change the date at the top so you’ll know.
