Want to know how BAD the Repub rise in health insurance premiums will be?

Check out these four scenarios, then remember: Dems are trying to keep these price increases from happening.

Charles Gaba, known as “Brainwrap” on DailyKos, is the founder of ACASignups.net, where he has tracked Obamacare enrollments since 2013. According to HealthInsurance.org, “his work has been cited by major publications from the Washington Post and Forbes to the New York Times as being the most reliable source available for up-to-date, accurate ACA enrollment data in the country.”

From his own blog: “Every year, I spend months painstakingly tracking every insurance carrier rate filing (nearly 400 for 2025!) for the following year to determine just how much average insurance policy premiums on the individual market are projected to increase or decrease.”

So, when Gaba put together an analysis of just how bad the health insurance price increases are going to be if Republicans get there way, I thought it was worth sharing. Especially when I looked at the four example scenarios he included.

His complete analysis, which you can read here, is many pages long. Fortunately, he did summary graphics for each scenario, which I have included below.

Before I share those, though, I want to share the title of his latest blog post:

Dear Democrats: I'm the guy who's moving heaven & earth to get the tax credits extended, and I'm telling you not to cave for a short-term fix.

Peruse these four scenarios, and you’ll understand why Gaba is sounding every alarm he can find. Horrific doesn’t begin to cover it.

A young adult in Carson City, Nevada

A single parent in Boise, Idaho

A married couple with children in Richmond, Virginia

A retired couple in Atlanta, Georgia

Now you know why the Dems are insisting that Repubs restore these health insurance credits before agreeing to the continuing resolution. These increases are draconian – and preventable.

I WANT the Dems to fight against these price increases. Don’t you?
